Here is in a nutshell, the most important thing to do on a daily or a least weekly basis :

  • Exercise
  • Read
  • Listen
  • Think
  • Write
  • Sleep

Exercise :

There is so many reasons to hit the gym on a regular basis. For me this have been the most beneficial thing to do in order improve my cognitive skills.

Read :

Many things have been said on reading, however I recommend you to read more fiction. Why? Because reading fiction can change the way your brain function and can make it more :

  • Educated
  • Openminded
  • Rational
  • Non-judgmental
  • Capable of seeing multiple viewpoints
  • Socially adept
  • Cognitively empathic
  • Knowledgeable
  • Skeptical

Listen :

Here what I mean is to actively listening while having a conversation not thinking about what you gonna say. Try to truly understand the other person point of view without judging them.

Sometimes you’ll find that they are right or that they hit some good points. This will broaden your understanding of the world and your consciousness.

Think :

Just take a moment and THINK. THINK about serious issues/personal problems. Propose solutions discuss them ; see you thinking as a construction (growth mindset). For example ask your self how can we/I make my life/this world a better place? What if I am wrong? What if the opposite work? etc.

I think that this process is the most important to make you smarter or even wiser.

Write :

Finally, use you pen ; write down your ideas, thoughts, goals. Keep a personal diary. This will not only make you smarter but also HAPPIER.

Sleep :

Eventhough studies show that smart people sleep later and less than other people, scientists – psychologists – agree to say that you need to sleep well (at least 8 hours ! ) to succeed.
